Completely stitched on all edges using top grade “Pro-forma 80” industrial thread, 2” and wider banding for headdresses / hip hei / belts / floral obi cumber-bands are lined with premium 100% organic cotton on 2-ply booklet folds with clean finish seams and reinforcement tacks at every pull point Medium-density inner layer is added for stability, endurance, and comfortable weight-balance! Excellent for specialty materials which require durable structure such as heavy seashells, Tapa / Siapo / Ngatu, horn, multiple tracks of hau or raffia, long fabric panels, heavy feathering, and heavy beading Reusable for fresh floral pieces and reworking of dry costume embellishments 18” Band & Longer: We provide a generously overlapped 3” Velcro closure from edge-to-edge with 1/4” final lip for a clean, polished finish, and ultimate stabilization. 9” Band to 17” Band: We recommend an overlapped 2” Velcro closure from edge-to-edge with 3/8” final lip for a clean, polished finish, and ultimate stabilization. 5” Band to 8” Band: We recommend an overlapped 1.5” Velcro closure from edge-to-edge with 1/8” final lip for a clean, polished finish, and ultimate stabilization. Each headdress base is carefully handcrafted and individually planned before cutting.
